Competition History

I have riden for many years and had many horses, I started on a Australian Pony, had two Quarter Horse x Stock Horses and just took my eventing life as it came but when I purchased my thoroughbred Humphrey as an eight year old I started training him for eventing and I started thinking maybe this horse and I might make it somewhere. We never did any good in the Dressage but our Cross Country and Showjumping where always good. Humphrey is the sort of horse that just does not stop. In December 2008 I qualified for the Pony Club State Showjumping Championships for B Grade and in 2009 Humphrey and I made our way to Oaklands with our team. Representing the North Eastern Zone was a big thing for me and our team came fifth. I loved the team atmosphere so in May that year I qualified to Represent North Eastern Zone again this time for Grade One Horse Trials. Our team came sixth and yet again I loved being part of a team. So in September I set of with Humphrey to the Friends of Werribee Horse Trials and competed Pre-Novice and made the State Team. So in October we set of again to Nationals in Werribee and competed for Victoria in the Eventing Section. Everything was fantastic, sitting comfortably in first place after the cross country we made our way confidently to the Showjumping only to be disappointed knocking two rails and loosing our first place. But representing my state was the best part of it. Walking around Werribee in Victorian Uniform makes you feel so proud. So in December I wasnt missing the oppurtunity to qualify for State and yet again Humphrey didnt disappoint. I qualified Humphrey in the B Grade again to represent North Eastern Zone. In February 2010 myself and my team headed of to Sale to compete. It was a fantastic weekend and we made a great team. We all worked hard and came second. Only a point of first but we didnt care, we all put in our best and had a great time. In March this year Humphrey completed his last Pre-Novice to qualify for 1*, so in September this year we took of to Werribee and did our first 1*. It wasnt the greatest weekend for us, but ill never forget how happy I felt when we completed the Cross Country course, but how upset I was that this would be my last ever horse trials on him. He is now a straight Showjumper but the thought always crosses my mind about taking him eventing again. I guess we'll see what happens!
